Per il nostro appuntamento settimanale, oggi troviamo nuovamente una delle mie autrici di preferite: Vi Keeland e il suo libro “Bossman”.
A fare da sfondo alla storia d’amore dei due protagonisti, la Grande Mela con il suo vociare e la sua opulenta presenza.
Reese e Chase, come nel più classico film romantico si incontrano in un ristorante, entrambi accompagnati da altre due persone.
Questo però non sembra essere un problema per Chase che appena la vede ha un vero e proprio colpo di fulmine.
“Cosa vogliono le donne? Scrisse sulla lavagna a grandi lettere”
Destino vuole che lui diventerà il suo capo, ma il passato di entrambi metterà a dura prova quello che sembra essere una combinazione fisica e mentale esplosiva.
Soprattutto per Chase sarà difficile lasciarsi andare, la sua ex fidanzata è morta anni prima e la sua perdita lo tormenta quasi ogni notte.
“Chase mi fissò per alcuni secondi “A volte non sai cosa ti stai perdendo fino a quando non lo hai trovato”
La scrittrice, capitolo dopo capitolo apre una finestra su entrambi i POV dei due protagonisti senza tralasciare i flashback, talmente ricchi di dettagli da immergere completamente il lettore in ogni singola riga, donando i pezzi del puzzle mancanti e scavando a 360 gradi nei sentimenti di Reese e Chase.
“Non focalizzarti su i “e se”. Concentrati su ciò che è”
Chissà se leggendo “Bossman” vi verrà voglia di uscire con la persona sbagliata per imbattervi in quella giusta!?! D’altronde il detto non dice: “Bisogna baciare molti rospi per trovare il principe azzurro?”

Dear Readers, for our weekly appointment, today we find again one of my favorite authors: Vi Keeland and her book “Bossman“.
As a backdrop to the love story of the two protagonists, the Big Apple with its bustle and its opulent presence.
Reese and Chase, as in the most classic romantic movie meet in a restaurant, both accompanied by two other people.
This, however, does not seem to be a problem for Chase who, as soon as he sees her, has a real love at first sight.
“What do women want? He’d written on the whiteboard in big, black letters”
Fate has it that he will become her boss, but the past of both will put a strain on what seems to be an explosive physical and mental combination.
Especially for Chase it will be hard to let go, his ex-girlfriend died years before and her loss haunts him almost every night.
“Chase stared at me for several seconds. “Sometimes you don’t know what you’re missing until you find it””
The writer, chapter after chapter opens a window into both POVs of the two main characters without leaving out the flashbacks, which are so rich in detail that they completely immerse the reader in every single line, giving the missing puzzle pieces and digging 360 degrees into Reese and Chase’s feelings.
“Don’t focus on the what ifs. Focus on what is”
Who knows if reading “Bossman” will make you want to date the wrong person and run into the right one!!! Then again, doesn’t the saying go, “You have to kiss a lot of frogs to find Prince Charming?”

È durante il peggior appuntamento della sua vita che Reese incontra per la prima volta Chase Parker.
Lei è nascosta nel corridoio del bagno di un ristorante e sta disperatamente chiamando la sua migliore amica perché la salvi da quella serata da incubo.
Mentre lui, affascinante, brillante e sfacciato quel tanto che basta, sta ascoltando tutto. Dopo qualche battuta tagliente, i due tornano ai rispettivi tavoli.
Reese è molto infastidita, eppure non può fare a meno di spiare di nascosto l’indisponente sconosciuto, seduto all’altro capo della sala.
Quando improvvisamente lui si alza e si presenta al tavolo di Reese, è convinta che voglia smascherarla; invece, a sorpresa, lui si siede e, fingendosi un amico d’infanzia, si unisce a lei e al suo accompagnatore, che ancora non ha smesso di parlare della madre.
D’un tratto la cena prende tutta un’altra piega. Ma, a fine serata, Reese è decisa comunque a ignorare l’interesse e l’attrazione verso l’intraprendente sconosciuto e a non rivederlo più.
È convinta che sia un addio. In fondo, quante possibilità ci sono di imbattersi di nuovo in Chase Parker in una città di otto milioni di persone?
Ma soprattutto… quante probabilità ci sono che lui finisca per essere il suo capo un mese dopo? La vita saprà sorprendere Reese con una tentazione irresistibile e una struggente prova d’amore.

The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn’t exactly make a good impression.
I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date.
He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice.
So I told him to mind his own damn business—his own tall, gorgeous, full-of-himself damn business—and went back to my miserable date.
When he walked by my table, he smirked, and I watched his arrogant, sexy ass walk back to his date.
I couldn’t help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked.
When the gorgeous stranger and his equally hot date suddenly appeared at our table, I thought he was going to rat me out.
But instead, he pretended we knew each other and joined us—telling elaborate, embarrassing stories about our fake childhood.
My date suddenly went from boring to bizarrely exciting.
When it was over and we parted ways, I thought about him more than I would ever admit, even though I knew I’d never see him again.
I mean, what were the chances I’d run into him again in a city with eight million people?
Then again…
What were the chances a month later he’d wind up being my new sexy boss?
